Project Description

The refurbishment and extension of Mt Maria Admin Building transformed a dated utilitarian brick building into a contemporary, functional and light-filled space.

An extension wraps around a new landscaped courtyard, bringing greenery and daylight into the heart of the building and offering the opportunity for fresh air and natural ventilation. The courtyard offers a quiet sense of refuge — visible from within yet shielded from the broader activity of the school grounds.

Internally, natural materials and generous timber detailing create a warm, grounded atmosphere. Externally, the form and palette have been carefully calibrated to sit respectfully within the wider campus context, contributing to a cohesive collegiate character without competing with its surroundings.
